Due to some technical difficulties on the K8S cluster this morning, where we experienced an impact on the availability of the data catalogue API. This means all services related to searching, browsing and visualising of EO data were affected. Nominal operations resumed on 11:53 CET. The root cause was investigated and we are preparing to install additional safeguard to protect us from a similar breakdown. Apologies for any inconvenience experienced.
Copernicus is the European Union's flagship Earth observation initiative, designed to provide valuable information services to citizens and organizations across the EU. It utilizes a combination of satellite Earth observation and in-situ (non-space) data to monitor and understand our planet and its environment.
The data produced by Copernicus is of such high quality and relevance that it has disrupted the Earth Observation industry, and its free and open data policy is the cornerstone of the program.
The goal of the Copernicus program is to make Earth observation-based solutions accessible to all, and to leverage the power of this data to drive positive change and preserve our planet.
